I've been on an extended road trip to Colorado following a personal loss. The trip has been healing and a wonderful break. The bottom line is that I have been inactive as an artist. I DID have a chance to work on a few and they are posted below. This is a little hurry up and the photos are taken with my iPhone so not the best quality.....hopefully future posts will show improvement.
Thanks to those of you who subscribe. It is appreciated.
AAA is a painting from a photo reference of Clear Creek, while driving from Salida, Colorado to Greeley. This painting was given to a special friend of mine and the title has a secret little meaning.
PORTLAND AT RUSH HOUR, 11 x 14 oil on linen.
My intention was to do a plein air painting and I had about three hours. Unfortunately, Colorado was in the middle of a major lighting and rain storm. I improvised and painted from my sister's back yard under the protection of her covered patio. Used a photo that I took a year or so ago on my iPad.
WELCOME SHADE, 11 x 14 oil on linen.
I did a small plein air study of this path in early May and later did (90%) of this painting as a demo for the Society of Washington Artists in Vancouver. It was a fun project and they were a nice audience (very little rotten fruit was thrown).
